I joined the ISKCON temple in Berkeley, California, in 1975, during a time of great momentum and enthusiasm in the Hare Krishna movement. From the very beginning, I was deeply inspired by the teachings of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, and I dedicated myself primarily to the service of book distribution. This service gave me the opportunity to travel extensively and share Srila Prabhupada’s books with thousands of people, helping to spread Krishna consciousness across different parts of the country.
In 1985, I married my wife, Maharha Devi Dasi, at the ISKCON temple in Chicago. Since then, we have been serving together in various capacities. One of our most cherished joint services has been organizing and participating in college outreach programs. Over the years, we’ve had the opportunity to speak at numerous universities, engaging with students and faculty on topics such as the Bhagavad-gita, spirituality, yoga, and Vedic culture. These programs have allowed us to present Krishna consciousness in an accessible and thoughtful way, creating meaningful connections with the next generation of seekers.
Currently, we reside in the vibrant devotee community of Alachua, Florida, where we continue our devotional practices and offer our service in various ways. Living in Alachua has been a blessing, as it provides daily association with senior devotees, wonderful kirtans, and opportunities to serve in a variety of temple programs. We remain committed to sharing Krishna consciousness and supporting the mission of Srila Prabhupada as best we can.
